Braided beauty! Summer may be starting to wind down, but it’s not too late for Lupita Nyong’o to usher out the season in style. The Oscar-winning actress, 33, traded in her natural curls for long, thin braids.
Nyong’o shared a snap of her fresh style, which fell around her shoulders, via Instagram on Sunday, August 14. She modeled a lace blouse with three-quarter-length sleeves, a woven bracelet and a Fitbit Alta while sitting on a window bench, and captioned the shot “Summer Sunday.”

This certainly isn’t the first time Nyong’o has experimented with plaits. The Jungle Book actress worked cornrows, twirled into an updo, at the 2015 SAG Awards. She worked the style again later that year, though long and loose.
The week before, Nyong’o, still with her signature short hair, vacationed at the Mulia Resort in Bali, where she had (and documented) a most fashionable stay. She sported a series of fierce bikinis, including a canary yellow Shoshanna two-piece and a striped suit, and lounge-perfect maxis, all of which made their way onto her Instagram page. She even emptied her beach tote to show her fans what she called “The Bare Necessities, Bali Edition.” (In her bag? A striped towel, a Panama hat and a Lancôme Juicy Shaker, naturally.)
