Labor Day may have been intended to celebrate the economic achievements of the American workforce, but not all health enthusiasts want to stop working (out).
Luckily, the majority of gyms across the country are likely to be open during the national holiday, meaning you can take advantage of all that time to lift weights, endure some light cardio or whatever else it takes to distract from the so-called "unofficial end of summer."
Planet Fitness: Planet Fitness, which has more than 1,800 gyms across the land, says on its website that most of its locations open 24/7, and it seems Labor Day 2019 is no exception. A search of multiple locations, from Florida to Texas, shows: "Open regular hours for the holiday!" You can find out if your local facility is open using the website's gym finder.
LA Fitness: Boasting 700 clubs across the U.S and Canada, LA Fitness appears to be open the standard hours of 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. However, it is advised to check locations using the company's club finder option, which lets you search for specific towns and cities.
24 Hour Fitness: Many of its locations are open 24 hours a day. To find out when a specific location is open the company is also asking customers to use its club finder. It says: "During the holidays, most 24 Hour Fitness clubs offer fewer hours so that our team members can celebrate with their families." However, the only holidays listed are Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day, so it is highly likely you will still be able to get your pump on during Labor Day.
Gold's Gym: The gym cemented in history for its slew of famous members, such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Gold's has spread thanks to franchises. This means that standard opening hours may vary. You can search clubs on its website.
Anytime Fitness: Like other major chains, Anytime Fitness boasts 24-hour service in thousands of its facilities in the U.S., including on Labor Day. "With 24/7 access to more than 4,000 locations worldwide, you're joining the most convenient gym on the planet," it says online. A search of its 'Find a Gym' shows that its clubs are typically staffed 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
World Gym: According to its website, World Gym's franchises are open 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday and between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. on weekends. The business has more than 215 fitness destinations in 20 countries. For exact hours, you can search its locations.

According to U.S. Department of Labor: "Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country."
